It's cheap, very cheap for a fogger, I know it must be crap but I thought that it might be sufficient to keep a high humidity in the foraging area for my (future) Atta colony.
I was planning to provide the leaves to my colony on an "island", thus I thought about putting this fogger in the water surrounding the foraging area.
What do you think ?
I think this is just for decoration not for moisturization.
Yes but even if it only does what is shown in the pictures (http://www.ebay.de/itm/12-LED-Ultraschall-Mist-Maker-Fogger-Wasser-Brunnen-Zerstauber-Luftbefeuchter-/271284238116?pt=de_haus_garten_tierbedarf_reptilien&hash=item3f29ccf724), it should be enough to keep some humidity in the foraging area (exo-terra 50*50*50) I think.
I think I am going to buy one, test it and let you know.
In any case, without the led it will be a nice decoration :p

i would not recommend this system. It is cheap yes, but you have more downsides to it.
- service life is≥3000 hours means 125 days top lifetime + it is even shorter in regular use
- it need 100V-220V transformer, output voltage is 24V - that + timer switch + ?
- ultrasonic technology - means you have an ultrasonic wave emitter in your room, who wants that? besides those wave are said to repell insects. there is no positive data though.
- the water bowl - needs to be open which is a risky installement for your ants
- with 12 LED colorful light - this means that product is designed and constructed for humans and there habits and not for animal keeping
There might be more lesser arguments like chemicals on the material they used etc, but i think those arguments above are valid and enough to be concerned. If you want it cheap, you can moisturize with a spray bottle. A good water storing soil substrate and a very lush vegetation automatically provide an ideal climate.
